There is absolutely no point of advertising to people outside of your customer range. Doing so will cost you much more money and yield very minimal results. A good way to avoid this is to geo-target your advertisements to only show up on people’s browsers in a certain geographical area.
The most common way to geo-target an area is by using Google’s Adwords, a program that allows you to literally draw an actual perimeter around the area you want to target. You can also specify a city, state, zip code, or region of the country. You can also specify by other things such as weather, time of day, and keywords.
By using geo-targeting you can increase your return on investment for things such as PPC.
