Creating an Email Newsletter

In order to create a successful email newsletter that actually goes out to known customers, you have to create a customer database, as discussed in the last section. Once you have a solid group of customers’ emails, shoot them an email highlighting any new menu items, deals, or events that will be occurring. It can be every week if you’re planning on offering changes on a weekly basis, but most restaurants do it every few weeks or month to avoid cluttering people’s inboxes.

What should you write about? Celebrate recent successes, such as newspaper articles, contests won, or even Yelp reviews. Discuss new menu items. Share special discounts and weekly deals. The whole point is to remind past customers of your establishment and entice them to come back another time.
