Hosting Events

Offering discounts to large groups for birthday parties, office events, fundraisers, or other similar things can attract people to use your space and bring dozens of potentially new customers with them. For smaller things like birthday parties maybe offer a special discount or free desert. For fundraisers promise a certain percentage of sales will go to the fundraiser’s cause. For larger events allow for groups to rent out the entire space for their party.

Smaller EventsOne of the main reasons normal people eat out is for special occasions. Birthday parties, office promotions, anniversaries, and family reunions are just a few examples of these occasions. Why should a family choose your restaurant for their kid’s birthday or their anniversary? There could be many reasons, but a good one is free menu items or at least discounts for certain occasions. Giving a free birthday dessert is probably the most common way restaurants bring people in. But you can do many things with your menu and pricing that will attract certain groups to spend their special night with you. Whatever you do, it is very important that you advertise it to get word out. If successfully advertised, these discounts can attract new people constantly to your place.

Fundraiser EventsPeople all over are trying to hold fundraiser and kickerstarter events to support a specific cause. Whether its cancer research or a little league baseball team, they need event spaces to attract people. It is easy for a restaurant to help these charities and attract many customers as a result. One way you can do this is offer your space for a large fundraising party. Another more common method is to make a deal with the fundraising group that for every item you sell to people they’ve brought in, their cause will get a certain percentage of the profit. This method will motivate them to bring more people in and will thus help you sell food as well as introduce potentially new clients to your food.

Large EventsPeople often want event spaces for large parties such as office parties, bachelor parties, bar mitzvahs, and sweet 16 parties. Offering your restaurant as a host can bring in lots of money and ensure good business for a night. True, you’ll have to shut your doors to other customers, but if the event promises to bring enough people or pay enough money this shouldn’t be an issue financially. Make sure to have party materials if you’re planning on hosting a large event, like a working microphone, good speakers, and a large space. This can be a great opportunity for introducing new customers to your business and developing a reputation as a fun place.
